Jim Bridenstine: Don't set timetables for withdrawal from any conflict

Q: Do you support United States' combat operations in Afghanistan?

A: Yes.

Q: Do you support a timetable for withdrawal from Afghanistan?

A: No. Afghanistan has historically been a haven for Islamic terrorists planning attacks on the U.S. and its allies. I support intelligence gathering and counter-terrorist operations as necessary to protect the national security of the United States. I do not support setting timetables for withdrawal from any conflict. Setting a deadline communicates to our enemies how long it will take to outlast us and essentially ensures defeat for the United States.

Jim Bridenstine: Military force OK to prevent Iranian nukes

Q: Should the US use military force in order to prevent Iran from possessing a nuclear weapon?

A: Yes. Terrorists should have no safe havens where they may organize and prepare for attacks against the United States, its armed forces and American citizens living or traveling abroad. U.S. military commanders need rules of engagement that allow them to immediately and appropriately respond to threats. Iranian nuclear weapons would further destabilize the Middle East and pose a threat to the entire world. The U.S. and its allies should use military force as needed to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons capability for its own use or for equipping terrorists.

Andrew Rice: Implement an orderly redeployment of US troops in Iraq

Rice believes that by never questioning the wisdom of this war, Senator Inhofe’s rubber stamp support for the Bush Iraq War policy has betrayed American soldiers and their families who are asked to sacrifice; Congress should force Bush to implement an orderly redeployment of American troops from the Civil War in Iraq and adequately finance their health and well-being as they return home.

Andrew Rice: Refocus on identifying and destroying terrorist cells

Once the Iraq Civil War is no longer draining American lives and treasure, the US can refocus on identifying and destroying terrorist cells around the world. The US enjoyed one of our greatest successes since 9/11 when our intelligence forces cooperated with Pakistani intelligence to capture Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the mastermind of the 9/11 attacks. Rather than refereeing a civil war, this surgical raid in a Pakistani village 4.5 years ago serves as an example of American strength against terror.

Andrew Rice: Force Bush to implement an orderly redeployment from Iraq

Rice believes that:
  1. By never questioning the wisdom of this war, Sen. Inhofe’s rubber stamp support for the Bush Iraq War policy has betrayed American soldiers who are asked to sacrifice;
  2. Congress should force the President to implement an orderly redeployment of American troops from the Civil War in Iraq;
  3. Once the Iraq Civil War is no longer draining American lives and treasure, the US can refocus our might and skill on identifying and destroying terrorist cells around the world.
