State of Wyoming Archives: on Corporations

Yana Ludwig: Socialism instead of trying to make capitalism nicer

Economic Insecurity: with almost half of Americans unable to afford a $400 emergency, we are at a crisis point economically, and I do not believe that our continued rush toward privatization and trying to make capitalism nicer is going to cut it. I am a socialist who focuses on local empowerment (in the form of strong unions and worker-owned cooperatives), state control (in the form of public utilities such as public banks and pharmaceutical entities) and limiting the role of the federal government to things that truly make sense to collectivize at that level, including healthcare, environmental protections and human rights guarantees.

Mark Gordon: Defend Wyoming values of limited government and low taxes

A lifelong conservative, Mark works to defend the Wyoming values of limited government, low taxes and personal responsibility. He understands the importance of local control and has fought to keep Washington out of Wyoming. Mark is a staunch protector of the Constitution. He believes in putting families first and is pro-life.

Matt Mead: Continue the manufacturing sales tax exemption

I support continuing the manufacturing sales tax exemption. The current law has the exemption expire at the end of this year. Forty other states have this exemption and Wyoming must remain competitive.

Nearly 200 Wyoming businesses already use the exemption. As we speak out-of-state manufacturers targeted by the Wyoming Business Council and my office anticipate the exemption. Without the extension, we risk the real possibility these businesses will locate in other states.
