John Snow on Jobs

Treasury Secretary (Pres. Bush Cabinet)

Tax cuts and open markets are the key to job creation

The President has asked the congress to make his tax cuts - the very ones that stimulated us into recovery and growth - permanent. He wants to make sure that more of your money stays in your pockets! After all, who knows better how to spend your money - you or Uncle Sam?

The surest path to more jobs is a growing economy. That is why the President is so focused on making sure the economy continues to grow and expand. We also have to make sure that people have the opportunity to learn the skills that are required for 21st century jobs.

Tax cuts and open markets are the key to job creation. You’ve heard some of the President’s opponents talk about isolationism. but in your profession, you know that trade is a lifeblood, and that our shores are doorways to 95 percent of the world’s markets. and that’s good for our farmers and manufacturers. We don’t want to shut those doors down.
