More restrictions on purchase, possession, & use of guns
Hagelin supports the following statements regarding gun issues:
Maintain federal restrictions on the purchase of guns
Require manufacturers to provide child-safety locks
Increase penalties for the possession of any illegal guns
Hold
gun owners responsible for crimes committed with their guns by children
Raise the minimum age for ownership to 21
Require three days for background checks of gun buyers at gun shows
Strengthen enforcement of current regulations on guns.

Gun control is reasonable, but won’t solve all crime
I think the current gun control laws are reasonable. To have a brief waiting period in some states, to have control over some weapons of powerful destructive capabilities, I think is reasonable.
I don’t think the control of guns, however, ultimately is the solution to crime. I think effective crime prevention programs are much more effective, and that’s where I put my focus.
