Greg Steube on Gun Control

Fervent supporter of the 2nd Amendment

As a lifelong sportsman, I am a fervent supporter of the 2nd Amendment. I believe in the right to self-defense and self-preservation and the right to keep and bear arms to protect your life, home, and family. I am fighting for these rights in Congress to ensure that they will be protected for generations to come.

Gun Free zones leave Floridians defenseless

Florida looks poised to pass a bill that expands a new and voluntary school security program by allowing trained and vetted classroom teachers to carry guns. This year's proposal to arm willing classroom teachers is the type of legislation that Steube tried for years to pass without success. "I just don't think that [gun-free zones] should be the law of Florida," said Steube. "I don't think people want to be sitting ducks waiting for law enforcement to show up and save them."

Steube opposes the PVS survey question on gun control

Project Vote Smart inferred whether candidates agree or disagree with the statement, 'Guns: Do you generally support gun-control legislation?' PVS self-description: "The Political Courage Test provides voters with positions on key issues. Historically, candidates have failed to complete our test due to the advice they receive from their advisors and out of fear of negative attack ads."
