Balanced our budgets while cutting taxes $700 million
Taxes in Wisconsin are still too high, but we've made enormous progress. In spite of inheriting a $3.2 billion deficit, I've balanced our budgets while cutting taxes $700 million. We ended automatic gas taxes, expanded the college tax deduction
and eliminated taxes on Social Security. I signed the tightest limits on property taxes in history,. In the next four years, I believe we should go further -- and allow people to deduct what they pay for child care and health insurance.
