Ann Kirkpatrick on Gun Control

Strongly supports the Second Amendment

I strongly support the Second Amendment. As a member of the state legislature, I defied the leadership of my own party to stand up for the rights of Arizona’s families to keep and bear arms. I strongly supported legislation bringing back responsible gun education to our public schools and voted to reduce the penalty for law-abiding citizens carrying a concealed weapon without a state permit. In Congress, I will continue to fight to protect the integrity of this fundamental Constitutional right.

National cross-state standard for concealed carry.

Kirkpatrick signed H.R.197&S.845

Establishes a national standard for the carrying of concealed firearms (other than a machinegun or destructive device) by non-residents. Authorizes a person who has a valid permit to carry a concealed firearm in one state and who is not prohibited from carrying a firearm under federal law to carry a concealed firearm in another state:

Opposes restricting the Second Amendment.

Kirkpatrick opposes the CC Voters Guide question on the Second Amendment

Christian Coalition publishes a number of special voter educational materials including the Christian Coalition Voter Guides, which provide voters with critical information about where candidates stand on important faith and family issues. The Christian Coalition Voters Guide summarizes candidate stances on the following topic: "Further restrictions on the right to keep and bear arms"
