Cut Congressional pay & time in session

In order to bring responsibility back to government, the U.S. Congress needs these Constitutional reforms:
• Members of Congress need to be term limited.
• Members of Congress should make significantly less than their current $174,000 per year salaries.
• Congress should spend less time in session, where its members create ways to spend, regulate, and tax.
• Congress needs a federal balanced budget amendment that can only be overridden by a supermajority during a time of war or other extraordinary events.
• With a balanced budget amendment, politicians will invariably raise taxes, so we need a constitutional amendment requiring a supermajority to raise taxes.
• The President needs to have a line-item veto to reduce earmarks and control spending.

First Amendment includes campaign spending

A: No. The First Amendment prohibits any infringement on free speech. People have the right to spend their own money as they wish to support political campaigns. Corporations and unions should be able to make direct and indirect contributions to campaigns. However, those contributions and the identities of the entities receiving them must be disclosed. No corporate or union funds derived from union dues or other payments compulsory as a condition of employment should be eligible as a source of direct or indirect campaign contributions.
