Burt Cohen on Free Trade

NAFTA does not set up a level playing field

Policies like NAFTA are supposed to be about free trade. What were finding is that they are free for other countries but come with a high cost for Americans. We need to start supporting trade policies that set up a level playing field for working and environmental conditions.

Amend NAFTA to protect local workforce

Burt Cohen stated that, "New Hampshire has lost 23,500 manufacturing jobs alone in the last 3 years. Policies like NAFTA are supposed to be about free trade. What we're finding is that they are free for other countries but come with a high cost for Americans. We need to revisit NAFTA and start supporting trade policies that set up a level playing field for working and environmental conditions."
