Joni Ernst on War & Peace

Cohesive and strong strategy to confront threats

Congress must hold President Obama accountable to ensure that he and his administration finally develop a cohesive and strong strategy to confront the many threats that we face. We must also do all we can to stand up here at home to ensure that our veterans receive the quality of care they were promised and deserve.

In the end, we will not be judged by what's on the outside--our physical perfection and strength--but by what's on the inside. Our inner perfection and strength. That strength which enables us to stand up for what is right and to stand against what is wrong.

Comprehensive plan to defeat ISIL and al Qaeda

Here in the Armed Services Committee room is where we'll debate strategies to confront terrorism and the threats posed by Al Qaeda, ISIL, and those radicalized by them. We know threats like these can't just be wished away. We've been reminded of terrorism's reach both at home and abroad; most recently in France and Nigeria, but also in places like Canada and Australia. Our hearts go out to all the innocent victims of terrorism and their loved ones. We can only imagine the depth of their grief.
