Josh Mandel on Energy & Oil

Use responsibly the natural resources we're blessed to have

Mandel said the nation's energy policy should take advantage of natural gas reserves buried under the eastern portion of the state. "The administration--and Congress to a certain extent--fail to see our natural resources as assets," Mandel said. "I believe the oil and gas and other natural resources we're blessed to have should be used in a responsible way."

Secure and reliable market-based energy supply

The Senate Conservatives Fund has developed a questionnaire that we require candidates to complete before we consider an endorsement. A candidate's answers to these questions will reveal whether they consistently apply conservative principles. Source: 2012 endorsee questionnaire from Senate Conservatives Fund , Jun 6, 2012

Aggressive and responsible exploration of Ohio's Utica shale

On the same day two weeks ago, Ohioans saw the following diverging headlines:You might be asking yourself: Why would Washington block drilling in Ohio at the same time that Ohio manufacturers are adding jobs to support the state's growing oil and gas exploration?

Aggressive and responsible exploration of Ohio's Utica shale, combined with continued mining of more than 20 million tons of coal here every year, can revolutionize Ohio's economy. A September study for the Ohio Oil & Gas Energy Education Program found that production in the Utica shale formation has the potential to create more than 200,000 Ohio jobs by the year 2015.
