Marco Rubio: Halt illegal activities at strip clubs & porn websites

Our state in confronted with the problem of pornography. The amount of available pornography is growing every year, as is the number of people addicted to it. In 2000, over 60% of website visits were to pornographic sites, with over 80% of the visitors to such sites jeopardizing their jobs and relationships.

Websites not only show pornographic material; some also serve as a clearinghouse for prostitution, setting up perverse sexual activities, and adulterous affairs.

The Supreme Court has ruled that outright prohibition of nude dancing or photography is unconstitutional. However, the court never found that all forms of pornography must be allowed, nor has it prohibited the regulation of strip clubs that sell alcohol. Florida must adopt regulations to halt the illegal activities occurring at strip clubs and on pornographic websites.

Solution: Eliminate anonymity and increase the costs to those arrested for and/or convicted of running a business that promotes sex crimes.

Marco Rubio: Increase $20M in tax credits for G-rated and PG-rated films

Currently, Florida invests in its film industry. This year it was $20 million. Florida should create a tax incentive program aimed at attracting more film production and TV series to the state, with priority given to those productions that are given "family-friendly" ratings such as G or PG. Such a tax incentive program will ensure long-term stability and investment in the film and entertainment industry. Providing tax credits for a specified number of years will allow productions to plan ahea with the certainty that the incentive will be available. Expanding the tax credit or providing a tax rebate to family friendly-rated productions would further promote Florida's commitment to family values. Providing four separate queues

film, television, and episodic
commercial and video
TV pilots
independent film
