Bob McDonnell: Make Wallops Island the top commercial Spaceport in America

The further development of Wallops Island Spaceport will continue to attract highly-skilled and high-paying jobs to the Eastern Shore, and in other locations around the state. In addition, it will generate millions of dollars in revenue for the region and state. Creating the top commercial spaceport in the country will also increase tourism to Virginia and boost the hospitality industry--a major economic driver in Virginia.

Chris Daggett: Expand mass transit; fix crumbling highways and bridges

Because we are the most densely populated state in the nation, we must expand our mass transit capacity and fix our crumbling highways and bridges. We need to give our pharmaceutical and biomedical companies what they need not only to survive but to thrive.

We need to market our natural attractions, beginning with the priceless New Jersey Shore, and that means putting money into tourism promotion--not taking it away.

Bruce Lunsford: Invest in basic infrastructure, plus broadband

In order to grow, every part of Kentucky must be connected to urban centers and the global economy. That means investing in basic infrastructure, from roads and highways to broadband Internet to airports and river ports. Remote parts of the state need good roads and highways to be accessible. Broadband connects every small business and every community to the power of the Internet. Quality infrastructure is the lifeline of commerce and necessary for Kentucky to succeed in the 21st century.
