Tim Pawlenty: Jobs Creation Bill: R&D tax credit; 20% corporate tax cut

I urge the legislature to pass my Jobs Creation Bill that has six vital parts:
1. A 20 percent reduction in the corporate tax rate;
2. A 20 percent exclusion from taxation for small businesses;
3. An angel investment tax credit;
4. A supercharged research and development tax credit;
5. A capital gains exclusion for qualified investments; and
6. Incentives for companies to invest in Minnesota small businesses.

Ed Rendell: Pass Work Sharing legislation: part-time unemployment

We applaud the employers who made the moral decision to keep their businesses going with fewer hours just so their workers can count on some income. If we act swiftly to pass Work Sharing legislation, workers in these companies could get unemployment for the lost hours that helped preserve jobs.

I realize that down the road there may be some long-term cost to employees and employers alike by crafting a modern system. But it's the right thing to do: if you work and pay in, and then lose your job through no fault of your own you should be able to collect. It should be as simple as that.

I've laid out a jobs and economic growth plan for our state. We have planned road construction, bridge repair, water investment, rail construction. Helping build new schools and repair old schools.

Jan Brewer: Governor's Jobs Cabinet: un-shackle job creators

First, I am announcing the formation of a Governor's Jobs Cabinet. This team of key state agency directors will cut through the red tape--and the green tape--to speed job creation.

Second, I will be allocating a significant portion of remaining federal stimulus funds directly to bring new jobs to Arizona. Specifically, I am devoting $10 million in one-time federal stimulus funds for job training. That way our employees will be ready to work.

Third, I have created the Governor's Commerce Advisory Council. Working with other Arizona business leaders, they will transform the Department of Commerce into an engine for job creation. Finally, I will convene a summit of leading CEOs to discuss job creation opportunities in Arizona.

Arnold Schwarzenegger: $500M jobs package, plus $10K homebuyer tax credits

There are four proposals to spur job growth that I will introduce.
• First, you will receive a $500 million jobs package that we estimate could train up to 140,000 workers and help create 100,000 jobs.
• Second, you will receive a measure to streamline the permitting of construction jobs that already have a completed environmental report.
• Third, to stimulate other construction jobs, you will receive a proposal for homebuyer tax credits of up to $10,000 for the purchase of new or existing homes.
• Fourth, since we want California to be the dynamo of green technology, I ask you to pass our proposal exempting the purchase of green-tech manufacturing equipment from the sales tax. That too means jobs. Those are jobs for the new economy.
