On Abortion:

Q: Should abortion be allowed under extenuating circumstances?
NEWHOUSE: I consider myself to be strongly pro-life. I believe that unborn children should be protected by law and that abortion should be permitted only when necessary to prevent the death of the mother or in cases of rape or incest.
I believe that we also need to ensure that women who are facing these terrible choices receive emotional support and are made aware of options available to them, such as adoption.
