2014 Faith2Action iVoterGuides: on Tax Reform

Brian Babin: Work toward a simplified tax code

Question topic: Free enterprise and the right to private property turn mankind's natural self interest into the fairest and most productive economic system there is, and are the key to national prosperity.

Babin: Strongly Agree.

Question topic: Briefly list political issues of most concern to you.

Babin: I oppose any tax increase and will work toward a simplified tax code. Spending must be reduced with real cuts that lead to a balanced budget and end constant debt-ceiling increases.

Jody Hice: Repeal 16th Amednment; pass Balanced Budget Amendment

Question topic: Free enterprise and the right to private property turn mankind's natural self interest into the fairest and most productive economic system there is, and are the key to national prosperity.

Hice: Strongly Agree.

Question topic: Briefly list political or legislative issues of most concern to you.

Hice: Passing a Balanced Budget Amendment would be a great step towards restoring fiscal sanity in Washington and renewing American prosperity. The spending mentality in Washington must be broken so we can restore our nation. Repealing the 16th Amendment, abolishing the IRS and passing the FairTax is another issue I consider of great importance. Now, more than ever, is the time the people can rise up and demand a change in our tax code so we stop punishing people for success.

Mark Zaccaria: FairTax ends complexity that requires entire industry

Question topic: Free enterprise and the right to private property turn mankind's natural self interest into the fairest and most productive economic system there is, and are the key to national prosperity.

Zaccaria: Strongly Agree.

Question topic: Briefly list political or legislative issues of most concern to you.

Zaccaria: Taxation: We take too much money away from those who productively earn it. Also, our tax code has become so complex that an entire industry has grown up to help us find our way through it. This is especially egregious for businesses which are thus forced to sustain unnecessary overhead to comply. The Solution? Flat Tax or Fair Tax rates and simplicity.
