Nels Mitchell: High priority on right to hunt & fish on public lands

Mitchell said that, after jobs and the economy, he would focus on protecting Idahoans' right to hunt, fish and recreate on public lands. "Our public lands belong to all of us, and they should not be turned over to the state where they could be put up for sale."

Gary Peters: Common sense safety measures, including background checks

We must come together to protect our children from gun violence and I think President Obama put a comprehensive package on the table. There is no single solution to ending gun violence, but we must do what we can to avert future tragedies, including common sense gun safety measures, expanded background checks for gun buyers, and school safety initiatives. In the days ahead, I will be urging my colleagues in Congress to put partisanship aside and work to prevent gun violence.
