On Abortion: Protect the pre-born and all the vulnerable in our society

I am a family man and active in my church. I will fight to protect the most vulnerable in our society at all stages of life. This includes the pre-born, handicapped and seniors.

On Budget & Economy: The way out of this crisis is to unleash the free market

To pay off the national debt, every man, woman and child in the US would have to write a check for $53,000. The government cannot tax its way out of this crisis. We must grow the economy and the best way to do this is unleash the power of the free market through lower taxes and less regulation.

Montana families are working hard to make ends meet, yet the Federal Government continues to borrow and spend. I have experience balancing budgets and I want to take that experience to Washington with me.

On Civil Rights: Marriage is a bond between a man, a woman and God

I believe that government should not be involved in the institution of marriage. I believe marriage is a bond between a man, a woman and God.

On Energy & Oil: Our energy is a fundamental part of our free society

America's enemies hold the key to our energy--a fundamental part of our free society. Over the past decade, natural resources--coal, oil and natural gas--have been discovered across North America that could make us energy independent and lower our cost of energy. We need to get the government out of the way and develop responsible American energy that produces jobs, revenue and security.

I'm ready to approve the Keystone pipeline and responsible energy production across the country. This will bring thousands of jobs to Montana alone.

On Environment: Put states in charge of predator control, not federal

As a hunter, I know firsthand the impact of federal intervention on our wildlife policies. I will work to put the states in charge of their own predator populations.

The Tenth Amendment is clear, "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people." The Federal Government has over-stepped its power in almost every aspect of governance.

On Gun Control: 2nd Amendment is about our right to defend ourselves

I am a gun owner, concealed weapon permit holder, and hunter. The 2nd Amendment is not about hunting, it is about our right to defend ourselves and our families. I support the right of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms of their choosing. I will not vote for gun control measures, and I will not vote to confirm anti-gun judges. I would not vote for any international treaties that deny us our 2nd Amendment rights or other personal freedoms.

On Health Care: ObamaCare: a train wreck of false promises & exorbitant cost

Montana overwhelmingly agrees that government run healthcare is not a step in the right direction. Montana's own senator, Max Baucus, authored the Affordable Care Act (commonly known as Obamacare), voted for it and now calls it a "train wreck." Meanwhile, insurance rates for Montanans are skyrocketing and small businesses are suffering.

Every Montanan wants healthcare to be affordable, but no Montanan wants the false promises, political favors and exorbitant costs of Obamacare. I support a market solution to healthcare that provides quality care at lower prices.

On Tax Reform: Reduce taxes and cut red tape

Montanans understand that small business owners, and not federal bureaucrats, create jobs. We need to reduce taxes and cut red tape so America's businesses and entrepreneurs can get our economy rolling again.

Washington DC needs a new direction. We need to get our government under control. We live in the greatest country in the world, yet we borrow a trillion dollars a year against our own children. I want my kids to live the American dream as our parents and grandparents did.
