On Abortion:
Focus on alternatives such as adoption & foster children
Some families that cannot have children will go to great lengths to do so. Within society there are alternatives, such as adoption and the fostering of children.
A voluntary kindred spirit to aid people with social or economic needs is more compassionate. These alternatives to abortion are better than a policy of aggression.

On Crime:
Eliminate mandatory minimums; balance with rehabilitation
Jails/Prisons: In our jails and prisons new directives are a must. Equilibrium is necessary between rehabilitation, retribution, skill training, and discipline within the penal system.
Abuse of inmates shall not be tolerated. In judicial sentencing guidelines, elimination of mandatory minimums is necessary.

On Drugs:
Legalization yields better results than current turf wars
Drug War: Just as in the era of alcohol prohibition, bad law has consequences to society. Non-violent offenses without intent to injure others should be non-criminal. Our laws create penal system tax burdens.
People purchase medication at pharmacies, alcohol at liquor stores, and cigarettes at tobacco stores. Legalization will present problems, yet will yield better results than the current black market turf wars and stray bullets.

On Gun Control:
Possess & trade firearms as owners wish
2nd Amendment: Just as in all property, the people should be able to keep in possession, purchase, trade, and sell their firearms as they wish. Proper handling and operation of a firearm retains it as an effective tool of defense and sport.
The necessity of them is determined by one's environment, and competency by ones psychology.

On Homeland Security:
Bring our troops home; close bases overseas
While stationed overseas in the Navy, in some places the people of that nation protested our presence. Nations and people should be given respect. Our soldiers standing on their soil isn't the best diplomacy.Bring our troops home from foreign lands
and defend America. Claims that this is isolationism or being naive are incorrect. Peaceful trade and commerce benefits all and is not isolationism but expands peace and prosperity. Examples are our former enemies Vietnam, Japan, and Germany.

On Immigration:
Benefits of citizenship only if arrived by legal means
Individuals that have arrived here by legal means and have proven themselves
with integrity should be allowed the benefits of citizenry.

On Social Security:
Opt in/opt out of payroll deduction choice
Personal Retirement Saving Plans: What if people were recipients of their own contributions? The idea is payroll deduction choice. Individuals could opt-in, opt-out, and adjust percentage payments anytime. Individual choice requires ownership.
Individuals would be owners of these savings accounts. Funds could be transitioned to existing pensions, 401K's, or savings accounts, IRA's, life insurance policies, CD's, savings accounts, or to spend as they like. We should not tax these investments.

On Social Security:
Opt in/opt out of payroll deduction choice
Department of Education: Federal involvement in public schools is unnecessary and has diminished our standing in the world. Private schools should be funded, and parents and students should be free to choose schools.
Teachers should compete for students. Eliminating the DOE is necessary to return states to their proper role in administering education.

On Tax Reform:
Replace income tax with FairTax national sales tax
Taxes should only be voluntary; at point of consumption of new goods, and services only.Repeal the 16th amendment. Replace with the FairTax; this national sales tax replaces most federal taxes. Currently, embedded taxes result in overpricing all items
in the market. Once transitioned to the FairTax, prices would drop while at the same time boosting peoples' paychecks. Unlike the proposed inclusive rate of 23%, with payroll deduction choice mentioned earlier, the FairTax could be lowered to 9%.
