Peg Littleton in 2016 CO Senate race
On Corporations:
Allow small businesses to keep more of what they earn
I will support businesses by working to eliminate over-taxation and excessive regulations. Business should be rewarded for success, not punished. Until the federal government allows small businesses and middle class workers to keep more of what they
earn, income disparity will continue to grow. I believe in the workers, entrepreneurs and business owners who form the foundation of this economy. I will place their needs over the special interests that are so often favored by the governing class.

On Education:
Led the effort against Common Core & for charter schools
As former elected representative to the Colorado State Board of Education and former teacher of 15 years, I led the effort against Common Core and excessive testing. Improving public and private education in Colorado is among my highest priorities.
I believe in parents and teachers. I support parental choice in education, which includes maximizing access to and support for charter schools, traditional public schools, private schools and home schools.
I support outcomes-based accountability and merit-based compensation for teachers.
People are our most precious treasure. We must give our children the very best in education potentials. Colorado's best path to success involves access to
quality education for all students from all neighborhoods and from all socioeconomic backgrounds. Literacy acquisition in the early grades is imperative. If children can read they will succeed. I advocate intensive instruction for teachers.

On Energy & Oil:
Supports all-of-the above energy policy
I have and will continue to support an all-of-the above energy policy. I will protect traditional fuels while supporting progress and innovation in wind, solar, geothermal, nuclear and other sources of sustainable power.
As a commissioner for Colorado's most populous county,
I voted for wind power and solar gardens, and to minimize onerous regulations of oil exploration in a manner that vigilantly protected the water supply.
As part of my dedication to job growth and affordable energy for households and businesses, I would support responsible efforts to revive the Keystone XL pipeline.

On Environment:
Won county funds for bicycle paths and open spaces
As county commissioner for Colorado Springs, I fought for and won the battle to allow wind farms in appropriate rural areas of Colorado's most populous county. I did so because the market should be free
to create sustainable sources of energy. I have fought for and won a battle to use excess tax revenue funds to sustain and improve parks, trails, bicycle paths and open spaces to protect wildlife and natural areas from urban sprawl.

On Gun Control:
Advocate for responsible gun ownership
I advocate for responsible gun ownership by adults trained in firearms safety. I myself am a concealed carry permit holder. I am a member of the National Rifle Association, a gun owner and a staunch defender of gun rights.
Unfortunately some people struggle with mental illness and it is a growing issue in society. Because of this I can support background checks. I believe the founders had it right and I am a firm supporter of our unalienable, constitutional rights.

On Health Care:
ObamaCare makes healthcare less accessible & more expensive
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, a.k.a. ObamaCare, is making health care less accessible and more expensive. Sen. Michael Bennet has ranked among the most enthusiastic supporters of this ill-conceived health care plan.I will fight for
genuinely affordable access to health care in Colorado & throughout the country. The key to affordable health care is supply. More doctors, nurses, hospitals and clinics will result in more access and lower prices. In the Senate, I will support policies
that encourage investment in medical facilities, medical research and restore the desire among our best and brightest young people to pursue medical careers.
I will also fight for legislation that will allow the imposition of market forces in the
medical marketplace. If consumers are allowed to shop for better medical bargains, prices will come down.
We must devise a system that protects the interests and choices of patients by putting them in control of health care and insurance markets.

On Immigration:
Welcome those who provide a net gain to society
Immigrants have made the United States the envy of the world. To maintain our tradition of constructive immigration, we must control our borders and welcome those who can prove they will provide a net gain to society while living in the United States.
I will support walls that can help attain this goal, and at the same time help keep out terrorists intent on harming Americans.

On War & Peace:
Oppose irresponsible and dangerous nuclear deal with Iran
One reason I seek to replace Sen. Michael Bennet is my opposition to President Barack Obama's irresponsible and dangerous nuclear deal with Iran. Bennet supported the Iran deal against the will of most Coloradans.
We live in dangerous times, challenged by nuclear proliferation in rogue nations and international terrorism sponsored by rogue dictatorships.
