Augustus Invictus in 2016 FL Senate race

On Civil Rights: Friends with white supremacists, but denies affiliation

Ex-Florida Senate candidate and white nationalist Augustus Sol Invictus has been arrested on an out-of-county warrant on charges of kidnapping, "high and aggravated" domestic violence and possession of a firearm during a crime of violence.

Invictus, who campaigned as a libertarian in a 2016 Senate run and later headlined the deadly 2017 Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, VA, was arrested Monday in Brevard County on a warrant out of the Rockhill Police Department in South Carolina. The police report describes him as an "out of state fugitive."

Invictus acknowledged that he is friends with white supremacists, and, though he denied his affiliation then, was praised and credited by white nationalist leader Richard Spencer as writing the first draft of the Charlottesville statement.

On Families & Children: Healthy relations between men and women: opposes deviancy

Invictus acknowledged that he is friends with white supremacists, and, though he denied his affiliation [during the 2016 campaign], was praised and credited by white nationalist leader Richard Spencer as writing the first draft of the [2017 Unite the Right rally] Charlottesville statement.

Among the core tenets: "Jews are an ethno-religious people distinct from Europeans," "Whites alone defined America as a European society and political order," "the so-called 'refugee crisis' is an invasion, a war without bullets, taking place on the fields of race, religion, sex and morality. At stake is Europe's very identity," "we oppose feminism, deviancy, the futile denial of biological reality, and everything destructive to healthy relations between men and women," and "Leftism is an ideology of death and must be confronted and defeated."

On Gun Control: Wants restoration of the Second Amendment

When asked "What changes would you support in America's gun laws?"˙Invictus replied "I would seek the restoration of the Second Amendment. The point of the Second Amendment is that the citizenry be able to defend itself against the government, which, I would point out, is exceedingly well-armed."

On Homeland Security: Non-interventionism & no unconditional support to Israel

When asked "What changes would you support in response to the threats posed by global terrorism?" Invictus replied "Policy is more important than law in this regard. The implementation of a non-interventionist foreign policy would be a good start. Declining to topple governments without reason and refusing unconditional support to Israel in a contentious region would be a great help. A moratorium on immigration from countries known for terrorism seems pretty common sense."

On Principles & Values: Libertarians are the party of peace & party of principle

As a veteran of the war in Iraq, I am a Libertarian by extension of my anti-war/pro-peace views. We oppose the initiation of force and coercion, both by individuals. We support the empowerment of the individual to take control of his own life and pursue her own destiny. It could also be said that our policies are very fiscally responsible and socially tolerant. We are the party of peace. We are the party of principle.

On Abortion: Leave abortion decisions to the states

Invictus believes the 10th Amendment ought to settle the abortion debate. Nowhere in the constitution is the federal government granted to regulate a medical matter, therefore, abortion ought to be left up to the states. Devolving abortion to the states may just be the push we need to make it possible for a woman to exercise her right to remove a baby without violating the baby's right to life. The more localized a position is, the more likely that position is to make progress.

On Budget & Economy: Fight for balanced budget & against Federal Reserve

He is in favor of the abolition of the Federal Reserve, repeal the income tax, end the IRS, and cut our spending and regulations. In the senate, Invictus would lead the fight for a balanced budget.

On Civil Rights: Who one marries is not the concern of the Government

Invictus encompasses the libertarian state of mind when it comes to civil liberties: Whether one marries a member of the same sex or of the opposite sex is not the concern of the Government. Whether one speaks with his wife or his mistress is not the concern of the NSA. Whether one consumes alcohol or marijuana is not the concern of the DEA. Whether one owns 1 firearm or 3 is not the concern of the ATF. We must restore our civil liberties and limit the power of the Government.

On Education: Enemy of Common Core and No Child Left Behind

Invictus believes in devolving education from the federal government to the states. He is an enemy of Common Core and No Child Left Behind. He believes that our current education system harms both our intelligent and our struggling students.

On Energy & Oil: Find alternatives to dependence on foreign energy sources

Augustus Invictus realizes that we are far too dependent on foreign energy sources. This dependence is one of the many causes of our horrific foreign policy decisions. Invictus fully supports finding alternative energy sources to solve this problem. Perhaps deregulating the energy sector will provoke a greater innovation in green energy that will end our dependence on foreign, harmful, and frequently unethical energy sources.

On Environment: Respecting environment over business is a must

Economic freedom does not necessitate the destruction of the environment. America can be productive & powerful without polluting the air, water, and soil. The freedom of Americans to pursue their business interests should not mean that we can no longer drink our own water. And where urban sprawl may threaten our American Wilderness, there we must decide which we cherish more: strip malls or our children's heritage.

On Technology: Subsidies to ISPs are the internet's real problem

Augustus Invictus is against Net Neutrality and FCC Regulation of the internet. Invictus sees the problem as not the lack of regulation, but the massive subsidies to ISPs that only form monopolies in technology. Invictus believes in a free internet without government regulation; one will not have to worry about their freedom of speech and expression with his voice in the Senate floor.

On Drugs: Abolishing the DEA is a start to end war on drugs

I want to destroy the DEA and put them out of work like they did to me and my friends when we worked at the pharmacy. But as far as the war on drugs is concerned, ending the DEA and repealing the Controlled Substances Act are just two of the steps. The real problem is that the pharmaceutical companies control our legislature. The pharmaceutical companies and their lobbyists just spend disgusting amounts of money pushing this legislation through.

On Immigration: Screen immigrants for status and ISIS connections

I think the first and foremost thing we have to do is restrict immigration. I understand the whole libertarian platform, the official position being that we should have few immigration restrictions, but this is a national security concern and it is a legitimate one. So screening immigrants for connections with ISIS or for actual refugee status, I think that is a legitimate thing to do and that's probably the first and foremost thing we should as far as foreign policy is concerned.

On War & Peace: Our foreign policies are interventionist

Invictus, an Orlando lawyer, said he shares classic Libertarian beliefs: Opposition to the war on drugs, support for slashing the federal budget and programs and scaling back interventionist foreign policies.
