2016 ND Senate race: on Principles & Values


Robert Marquette: Only Libertarians can repair damage to the Supreme Court

There has been a lot of political rhetoric out of Washington recently regarding Merrick Garland's nomination to the SCOTUS. President Obama has spent more than 7 years using the Constitution as a pi¤ata, and now he lectures Republicans on their constitutional duties. Mitch McConnell sites an imaginary "Biden Rule" that magically suspends the Senate's constitutional obligation to advise and consent on the president's nominee.

But, this is all just political theater. Now that we are entering an election cycle, suddenly establishment Republicans play like they are concerned with preserving the rights of Americans and the Constitution.

Enough of the games. Give Merrick Garland an up or down vote on the floor of the Senate. And remember, there is no damage that establishment republicans and democrats can do to the Supreme Court that can't be repaired by voting Libertarian.
