Evan McMullin: Negotiate stronger trade deals but don't close doors

America prospers when we compete globally. Almost 95 percent of the world's consumers live beyond our borders, and greater access to those markets helps create American jobs. We should negotiate stronger trade deals and enforce the terms of existing agreements to ensure fair competition globally. Closing doors to trade opportunities won't bring back jobs, but it will make life for everyday Americans more expensive, and reduce our ability to sell our goods around the world.

Bernie Sanders: End disastrous NAFTA, CAFTA, and PNTR with China

Since 2001 we have lost more than 60,000 factories in this country, and more than 4.9 million decent-paying manufacturing jobs. We must end our disastrous trade policies (NAFTA, CAFTA, PNTR with China, etc.) which enable corporate America to shut down plants in this country and move to China and other low-wage countries. We need to end the race to the bottom and develop trade policies which demand that American corporations create jobs here, and not abroad.
