On Government Reform: Next president should appoint in mold of Justice Scalia

As president, Marco will:
• Nominate Supreme Court justices and lower-court judges who will apply the Constitution as originally written and understood, and are committed to enforcing the rights that actually appear in the constitutional text, rather than inventing rights that do not.
• Fight for term limits on federal judges, to restrain the power of any one judge or president to shape law for decades.
• Appoint well regarded lawyers to lead the Department of Justice who respect these same principles, including a Solicitor General who will argue on behalf of these principles before the Supreme Court.

   • Undo the damage caused by sequestration by returning to Secretary Gates' fiscal year 2012 budget baseline.

   • Empower our intelligence community by permanently extending Section 215 of the Patriot Act.
2. American Prosperity:
   • Complete the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).
   • Oppose any violations of international waters, airspace, cyberspace, or outer space.
3. American Values:
   • Restore the defense of human rights and democratic principles as a core tenet of U.S. foreign policy.
   • Resist efforts by large powers to subjugate their smaller neighbors.
   • Fight for the rights of the vulnerable, including women and religious minorities, and defend freedom of the press.

   The stakes rose higher with the tragic passing of Justice Antonin Scalia, one of the finest judges in American history. Pres. Obama's two Supreme Court appointments have led a disturbing trend of liberal lawlessness, and Marco has made it clear that the Senate should not confirm any nominee to the Court for the rest of Pres. Obama's term. The next president will have the chance to set the balance of the Court for decades, and Marco will do so by appointing men and women in the mold of Justice Scalia.    On Technology: Phase out Mass Transit account; cut gas tax by 80%

   We successfully built a national highway system in the last century, but now we need local flexibility to address our diverse nation's many different needs and problems. The federal gas tax feeds Washington's overspending. Transportation dollars are funneled through a Highway Trust Fund that is pillaged every year by Washington special interests. And decades-old federal red tape adds cost and stands in the way of innovative solutions.
   Marco will take a new approach in building the infrastructure for the next American century. As President, Marco will:
   • Cut outdated gas taxes: Reduce the federal gasoline tax by 80%.
   • Empower states to innovate: Turn back control of the highways to the states, stopping special interests from building "Bridges to Nowhere."
   • Find common-sense savings: Repeal the Davis-Bacon Act that inflates government costs by billions every year and is a giveaway of taxpayer dollars to labor unions. Phase out the Mass Transit Account, which loots the Highway Trust Fund.
