Marco Rubio:
Phase out Mass Transit account; cut gas tax by 80%
We successfully built a national highway system in the last century, but now we need local flexibility to address our diverse nation's many different needs and problems. The federal gas tax feeds Washington's overspending. Transportation dollars are
funneled through a Highway Trust Fund that is pillaged every year by Washington special interests. And decades-old federal red tape adds cost and stands in the way of innovative solutions. Marco will take a new approach in building the infrastructure
for the next American century. As President, Marco will:- Cut outdated gas taxes: Reduce the federal gasoline tax by 80%.
- Empower states to innovate: Turn back control of the highways to the states, stopping special interests from building "Bridges
to Nowhere."
- Find common-sense savings: Repeal the Davis-Bacon Act that inflates government costs by billions every year and is a giveaway of taxpayer dollars to labor unions. Phase out the Mass Transit Account, which loots the Highway Trust Fund.

and underemployed are connected to the jobs they need.
- Accelerate aviation technology and invest in American airports. Hillary will invest in building world-class American airports and get the Federal Aviation Administration's "NextGen" program back
on track to modernize our national airspace system.

Gary Johnson:
No government "back doors" into encrypted, private info
Gary Johnson has often said, "There is nothing wrong with the Internet that I want the government to fix." The Internet has literally changed the world, and has done so largely without interference from the government.Yet, there are increasing calls
for government regulation and intrusion into the Internet. Some politicians recently passed so-called Cyber Security legislation: the government is determined to insert itself into our freedom to communicate, conduct business and seek information via the
Web.
The government is even demanding that it be granted special "back doors" into encrypted, private information held and moved by Internet providers. The excuse is security--a laughable concept from a government that has proven time after time to be
incapable of protecting even the most basic data.
Gary Johnson has consistently opposed these attempts at government interference with the Internet, and as President, would return the government to the side of freedom and innovation--not regulation.

Lincoln Chafee:
No tapping of our phones without a warrant
The freedoms granted to America in our Constitution should never be abridged. Recently certain of our rights have been wrongfully infringed upon. Particularly the Fourth Amendment forbids the tapping of our phones without a warrant.
And the Eighth Amendment outlaws cruel and unusual punishment or torture. I will never allow our liberties to be diminished. And I will always steadfastly support our First Amendment rights.

George Pataki:
Travel between cities should be in trains faster than planes
- Let the next decade be the decade when the American worker and innovators, the best workforce in the world, accomplish things we can only dream of.
- Let the next decade be the decade when Americans finally cure cancer and end for all
time the scourge of Alzheimer's.
- Let the next decade be the decade when American energy powers the world with our own clean, unlimited resources.
- Let the next decade be the decade when
Americans travel from city to city in trains faster than planes, in cars that drive themselves, and over paths we have yet to imagine.
- Let the next decade be the decade where Americans can have boundless economic growth while enhancing
and improving, our natural environment.
- Let the next decade be the decade where America proves to the world: "you ain't seen nothing yet."

Bernie Sanders:
Stop bailing out Wall Street & start repairing Main Street
Our infrastructure is collapsing, and Americans know it. They see it every day in the potholes they drive over, the bridges in their communities that have been shut down and the water pipes that burst. Is this the best our country can do? No.
We can and we must do better. That's why we need to invest at least $1 trillion over five years to rebuild America. This will not only make us safer, more productive and more efficient, but it will generate income and create jobs--lots of jobs.
The estimate is that this $1 trillion investment will create and maintain 13 million jobs--which is exactly what our economy needs. We have ignored our infrastructure crisis for too long. The time to act is now.
There's a reason that investing in our
infrastructure has traditionally enjoyed bipartisan support in Congress. It's a good idea. This funding should receive the highest priority.
It's high time we stopped bailing out Wall Street and started repairing Main Street.
