Deedra Abboud in 2018 AZ Governor's race
On Principles & Values:
Keep church and state separate
[Asked about "religious freedom," Abboud said], "In their infinite wisdom, the Founding Fathers decreed that this nation would separate church and state, and in doing so protect both institutions.
Government would be free from religious overreach, and religion would be free from government interference."

Keep women's reproductive health services in ObamaCare

On Health Care:
Don't repeal, but improve ObamaCare
We must fight to ensure that Congress improves the Affordable Care Act, rather than repealing and replacing it with a plan that strips away health care for families and crushes the economy. Deedra believes in listening to the will of the people, and
working towards a solution that will strengthen the Affordable Care Act:- Lowering premium costs
- Improving accessibility
- Safeguarding care for those with pre-existing conditions
- Expanding Medicaid and protecting Medicare

On Immigration:
Banning refugees morally unacceptable
[Asked about Syrian refugees and Russia's involvement in the Syrian war, Abboud said,] "We have a president who wants to ban refugees," Abboud said. "Ban refugees who are experiencing atrocities that, thank God, America has really never experienced.
And we never want to experience those. But at the same time, we have a president that is singularly partnershiping with Russia to bomb the very people who are already dying on the ground and we are denying refuge to."
