Janet Mills: Legal. Backed bill advancing access in rural & low-income communities. "I will fight any attempt to undermine or roll back a woman's right to choose."
Moody: Ban. During 2010 campaign said it was a private choice. Now ban, with exceptions for rape, incest or life of the mother.
Mills: Yes. Proud that ME voters were first state to approve marriage equality at the ballot box.
Moody: Not personally. "Marriage is one man & one woman." Opposed marriage equality law, but in 2010 campaign, said he would "respect the will of voters."
Mills: Yes. Properly implemented, could "bring millions into our state economy, create jobs, and end unjust & costly war on drugs."
Moody: Opposes, part of corrupt initiative process that led him to run for office. Can't test impairment, so legalization is a liability for employers.
Mills: Yes. "Global climate change demands immediate action. I [will use] the authority of my office to address the problem in a meaningful way."
Moody: No. Doesn't believe human activity contributes to climate change. Says he will balance protecting Maine's environment and having a stable regulatory structure for job creators.
Mills: Yes. Ban bump stocks and high-capacity magazines. Spent career fighting for sensible gun safety laws, including related to domestic violence.
Moody: No. Supports ME Constitution's statement that right to keep and bear arms "shall never be questioned."
Mills: Yes. Preserve recent increase passed by voters, to $12/hr by 2020.
Moody: No. Roll back recent increase. This is among the initiatives he opposed.
