Jared Fisher:
Pro-life because pregnancy involves two persons
Because it involves two persons, I am pro-life. But I am against the extreme view that ANY abortion should have negative consequences for the mother. If the situation involves rape, incest, or health of the mother,
it should be decided by the mother with no questions asked. In other cases, I do not believe that abortion should be a matter of convenience.

Steve Barlock:
Protect the rights of the most innocent heartbeats
Q: Would you support moving towards more restrictive abortion laws?A: Yes. As Governor, I will seek to protect the rights of all heartbeats in Colorado. We have had many people move from the 43 states which do more to protect the most innocent
heartbeats. I actively used my sphere of influence to ensure that Justice Neil Gorsuch would support the sanctity of life. All other candidates either sat on the sidelines or actively campaigned against having a jurist of his quality on the Supreme Court

Andrew White:
Firm proponent of women's right to make her own decisions
Roe v Wade is the established law of the land, and has been for decades, and I respect the law. I'll work to expand women's access to healthcare services, which means working on policies to: Increase education and access to contraceptives.
Increase access to pre-natal care. Reduce death due to complications during pregnancy and delivery. Reduce infant mortality. Do I respect the rights of the mother? You bet I do. Do I respect that a woman's body is private? Absolutely.

Lt. Governor Cagle is 100% pro-life, and deeply believes that every child is a gift from God who deserves the full protection of our laws, from conception forward.

David Hadley:
Pregnancy is a woman's decision, but restrictions ok
David Hadley believes--as a matter of law--that women and couples have the right to make their own decisions about pregnancies. He is personally opposed to abortion as birth control;
he'll vote against partial birth abortion; and he favors parental notification because state law should strengthen the family unit.

Tina Liebling:
No government infringement of decision to reproduce
We must protect the freedom of every Minnesotan to speak their mind, maintain their privacy, and make their own important decisions. Government should not infringe on personal decisions that don't impact the health and safety of others--
such as who to love and marry, whether and where to worship, which bathroom to use, and how and when to reproduce.

Jay Gonzalez:
Close the federal gap in funding for Planned Parenthood
Joining thousands of women on Boston Common to stand in support of Planned Parenthood, Jay Gonzalez voiced his commitment to women's reproductive health care. Gonzalez applauded Governor Baker's commitment to closing the gap in funding for Planned
Parenthood if President Trump and the Republican Congress defund it. Gonzalez called on Governor Baker to join him in making the following additional commitments to support women's reproductive rights:- Guarantee that women have access to no
co-pay birth control if the Affordable Care Act is repealed; and
- Commit that future appointments to the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court will uphold women's rights to full reproductive freedom and ensure women's access to safe, legal abortion in
Massachusetts.
Said Gonzalez, "I'm calling on Governor Baker to join with me in denouncing any effort by the Trump Administration and the Republican Congress who seek to put women and families' access to health care at risk."

Mark Green:
A fetus is a human being with rights
This past Sanctity of Life Sunday compels us to acknowledge our responsibility to those among us who cannot protect themselves. Whether young, in the womb, aging, handicapped or healthy, all people have the "inalienable rights endowed by our Creator."
Our constitution acknowledges, and establishes a government to protect those God-given rights.Abortion is a tough, personal issue that has been mishandled by political leaders of all persuasions.
However, principled policy can be accompanied by authentic care and sensitivity.
While the politics swirl in debate, accusations, anger and frustration, the fact remains that the developing baby is a human being.
The Bill of Rights, assuring us all due process, applies to that child. He or she has a right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness like anyone of us, no matter how conceived.

Mark Green:
Mother and fetus are two distinct people, even before birth
The recent videos of Planned Parenthood cause nearly everyone to cringe. The words and images make the hardest among us repulsed. It's very easy to understand emotionally. Yet, the science supports our anger as rational and not just emotional.
In 1973, the US Supreme Court ruled that a woman's right to privacy outweighs the science of embryology. Court cases--such as the Laci Peterson murder trial--find the defefandant guilty of a double homicide for killing both the mother & her unborn child.
The inconsistency here is obvious.
The mother's immune system sees the baby's blood as a foreign intruder. It makes complete sense. While mother and baby have lots of similarities, they are, in fact, distinct beings.
Half the DNA comes from the father making the baby distinct and different from the mother.

Andy McGuire:
Restore Planned Parenthood funding from the dark ages
I am disgusted by the regressive, anti-choice legislation that the Branstad-Reynolds administration signed into law. It takes women's health back into the dark ages. And the Branstad-Reynolds administration effectively defunded Planned Parenthood
forcing four clinics in our state to close. This takes away women's health services including cancer screenings, STD testing, and access to birth control. As governor, I will restore funding for Planned Parenthood on my very first day in office.
