Recognize and value the contributions of older workers
I'm running for governor to build a New Hampshire that works for everyone by championing policies that will help ensure economic security for all. Help meet our state's workforce needs by ensuring that companies recognize and value the
contributions of older workers; and reinstate net neutrality on the state level to provide a free, open internet for everyone, including our small businesses.

Philip Levine:
For raising minimum wage; let local communities decide rate
To create a state where we all rise together, Philip believes it's time to raise the minimum wage in the state of Florida. It's something he did as Mayor of Miami Beach, as the first city in the state to institute a minimum living wage.
As Governor, Philip will fight to raise the minimum wage past $8.25 and let local communities decide what works best for them.

Mike Dunleavy:
The only path forward to new jobs is to encourage businesses
Alaska's economy is currently in recession and we have the highest unemployment rate in the country. The worst possible response to a struggling private sector is to impose a statewide income tax, the path Governor Walker wants to take.
We can't tax our way to prosperity. The only way to restore our economy and bring new jobs to Alaska is to create a business climate that encourages investment, instead of making it more difficult.

Laura Kelly:
Future jobs need creative, innovative strategic investments
After years of Governor Sam Brownback's self-inflicted economic recession, Laura Kelly believes we need a new approach to jumpstart job growth in a rapidly changing economy. Laura has long supported traditional engines that drive prosperity:
public schools, job training, and infrastructure, but she also believes Kansas leaders must think more like entrepreneurs and less like politicians. We must innovate and make creative, strategic investments that plan for the jobs of the future.

Lori Swanson:
Prioritize decent jobs that pay the bills
Minnesotans have a great work ethic. But too many Minnesotans continue to be squeezed financially, with wages not keeping pace with the rising cost of health care, child care, college, and housing. Lori wants people who are willing to work to have
a shot at a decent job that pays the bills. She will prioritize job creation and an economy that works for all Minnesotans.Lori will work to create an infrastructure and workforce conditions that support a modern economy.

History of creating jobs and bringing in new industry
As Mayor, Oklahoma City created nearly 100K new jobs and over 9,400 new businesses. He wants to use his job-creating skills to attract new industry to all of Oklahoma. Under Mick's leadership,
Oklahoma City diversified its economy expanding thousands of new jobs in aviation and biomedical fields. His ability to promote our state helped create a tourism industry that has grown each year and attracted new dollars to our state.

Will make workforce training and development his priority
Today, 600K Alabamians are either unemployed or working in jobs that don't match their skills or their needs. Over 100K commute to other states for work. This trend must stop. Without better and higher paying jobs, our schools, health care,
roads and bridges will never meet the standard we deserve. We will make workforce training and development the cornerstone of rebuilding our economy to meet the 21st century. We will make college affordable in our state.

Ben Jealous:
Knows firsthand the benefits of working union jobs
It was the support of unions, good union jobs, and a double union household, that helped pull my family out of McCulloh Homes Public Housing. My success is due to my and my family's hard work, but it is also due to the
fact that unions make hard work enough to succeed, and for too many families today that simply isn't the case. When I'm governor, hard work is going to be enough for everyone to make sure that their kids are better off than they are.

Fight to raise minimum wage to $15/hr
Wage growth for Maryland's families have fallen behind under Gov. Hogan and we need new leadership to create an economy that is truly inclusive and meets the needs of our state. I know how to build an economy that leaves no family behind, no worker
behind, no young person behind and no person behind who has paid their debt to society. I've helped lead the fight for a $15 minimum wage and ensure fair treatment for groups routinely exploited and excluded from business and employment opportunities.

Fred Hubbell:
Believes in unions and equitable collective bargaining
Expanded collective bargaining is not only the right thing to do, it's personal to Fred. He is a former labor union member. When Fred later became a business leader, he regularly worked with unions to encourage their
representation in the workforce and ensure fairness at each and every level. The dismantling of workers' rights in Iowa is politically motivated and wrong. Every Iowan deserves safe working conditions and to be paid fairly for their work.

Raise minimum wage in increments
Idahoans who work full time shouldn't be living in poverty. Idaho has the lowest minimum wage in the West, but the highest number of minimum-wage workers. I will look at every opportunity to raise the minimum wage. I will work with the Idaho State
Legislature and in collaboration with the business community on a graduated plan to begin raising the minimum wage in manageable increments - an initiative other cities and states have successfully accomplished across the country.

$15 minimum wage and paid sick time
Affordable housing, quality education, basic health care, and solid employment have become harder for everyone but those at the top. Why? Because for most people wages, wealth, and income have remained flat.We know that there are many tools--higher
wages, better training, support for small business, local capital, anchor institutions, public banks, and tested business models like cooperatives--that can build real jobs for real people in real communities. We need a $15 minimum wage and paid sick tim

Private initiatives can create new jobs
Not all that long ago, Illinois was way behind when it came to creating technology jobs--and we were missing out on the high-paying jobs those businesses create.
I led the creation of a non-profit small business incubator called 1871, which in the last five years is responsible for creating 6,000 new jobs in Illinois, and we're now ranked among the top ten tech hubs in the world.

Nate Boulton:
$15 minimum wage indexed to inflation
Nate would fight for a minimum wage of $15 an hour, indexed to inflation, to keep up with our growing economy. Rather than lagging behind five of our six neighboring states,
Iowa must become a leader on developing a stronger workforce and creating a livable wage. Nate wants a $15 minimum wage by 2024 and an immediate increase to $10.75 by 2019.

$15 minimum wage and paid family leave
We must take action now to make sure the Commonwealth's economy works for everyone by instituting policies like a $15 minimum wage and paid family leave. Setti Warren also believes we need to rethink how education works.
In addition to making college more accessible, the Commonwealth needs to be a national leader by creating a model for lifelong learning, paid apprenticeships and co-ops to help workers adapt to shifting economic conditions.

Tina Liebling:
Don't permit employers to pay non-sustaining wages
A person who works full time should be able to meet the basic needs of her family, but many can not. When employers are permitted to pay non-sustaining wages, taxpayers must fill the gap with food support, housing support, and other needs.
This is a subsidy for employers and undermines the dignity of the worker.
I'm proud to have voted to raise Minnesota's minimum wage and to have it apply equally to tipped employees, but we must continue to raise the minimum wage until all full-time work in Minnesota pays a living wage. We must also strengthen other
workplace rights, such as earned sick time and paid family leave. Let's allow everyone the dignity and security to get better at home or have the time to visit a physician then return to work healthy and productive.

Defend the right to organize and bargain collectively

21st Century Manufacturing Zone Act: 17,000 new jobs
Battle has served as Huntsville's mayor for eight years. Under his leadership, more than 17,000 new jobs have been created for the area, including the addition of Remington Arms Company and Polaris.
He has taken a fiscally conservative, results-driven approach to creating new jobs and better opportunities for Alabamians. In 2016, Battle worked with leaders across the state to support the Major 21st Century Manufacturing Zone Act.
Approved unanimously by the Alabama State Legislature and overwhelmingly by state voters, the act gave
more authority to local leaders in communities pursuing major economic development and job creating projects.

Repeal Walker's legislation that banned unionized workplaces
Repeal Scott Walker's legislation that banned unionized workplaces: I am a steadfast supporter of unions. Unions give a strong political voice to Wisconsinites, protect our rights in the workplace, and help make sure that
Wisconsinites get a fair deal for the work they do. That's why the first thing I will do as Governor is repeal Scott Walker's legislation that banned unionized workplaces.
Immediately restore the right of public employees to bargain collectively: I support our teachers and public employees, and I will immediately restore the right of public employees to bargain collectively. I have so much respect for the talented
Wisconsinites who work hard every day to make our state a better place to live and work. As Governor, I will work collaboratively with Wisconsin's outstanding public employees to innovate on and improve every department of government.

Current minimum wage barely meets worker needs
Alabama citizens all across the state are struggling financially due to wages that are completely unacceptable for today's working class citizens. The current minimum wage barely meets the needs of the average worker and must become a living wage.
It is essential that the minimum wage is gradually increased over the next several years so that Alabama citizens can survive and contribute to the economic recovery within the state.

Renegotiate our union contracts with state employees
We should not be blaming state employees for the fiscal mess our politicians have created. But we do need their help to find a long-term solution. The compensation package for state employees needs to be in par with those in the private sector.
We must renegotiate our union contracts and ensure that these contracts are approved by the Connecticut Assembly. Working together, we can find a solution that is fair to hard-working public servants but also fair to taxpayers.

Pro-business AND pro-labor; ran all-union shop

Reliable jobs that pay a living wage
As the daughter of a union auto worker, I understand the importance of a reliable job that pays a living wage. As a nurse, I saw first-hand the necessity for affordable health care coverage. As the mother of twin girls, I know that we need an education
system that prepares every child to be successful & ready to participate in the economy of our future. And as a legislator, I've learned that these things must work together in order to ensure every person has a shot at the good life here in Minnesota.

Raise the minimum wage to $15/hr
Republicans froze the minimum wage at $7.25/hour. In the process, they made Iowa the 3rd-lowest in the nation for minimum wage rates. This regressive policy hurts hardworking Iowans and forces many to work two or three jobs just to make ends meet. At a
time when corporate executives are making record profits, there should be no issue raising the minimum wage statewide.I support raising the minimum wage to $15.00/ hour across Iowa. And as counties vote for higher minimums those should stand as well.

Restoring collective bargaining for Iowa workers
Iowa workers saw an attack from Gov. Reynolds and Republicans in the legislature on their right to collectively bargain for better wages and benefits. No longer are our workers allowed to bargain over issues such as healthcare--something that
I think is a vital benefit our workers depend on. Their legislation is nothing more than another handout to corporations while hardworking Iowans are forced to suffer. I will immediately restore collective bargaining rights for all Iowans.
