Keith Stern:
Cut spending by $100M and put half into infrastructure
We need new infrastructure to bring in manufacturing jobs or any type of business or industry. I will set an initial target of $100 million in government spending cuts, half will be used towards road and bridge repairs until that is under control.
That doesn't mean we will quit if we reach that target. I will always be looking for every savings possible without affecting essential services.

Jeff Johnson:
Moratorium on light rail; focus on first-class bus system
Transportation is the lifeblood of Minnesota's economy. By employing common sense and long-term planning there is no reason we can't achieve great roads and solve our broader transportation issues without breaking the bank.
The Johnson Administration will put a moratorium on light rail and focus transit money on a first-class bus system. In the Metro, I'll base my transportation funding decisions on projects that relieve congestion and provide mobility to the citizens.

Lori Swanson:
Crucial need to repair and modernize infrastructure
Poor roads cost Minnesota motorists $1.2 billion every year in extra car repairs, and the average Minnesotan wastes 40 hours a year stuck in traffic. 40% of our 4,800 bridges are at least 40 years old, and 50 percent of our highways are at least
50 years old. We need to improve our roads, bridges, and mass transit networks. Minnesota needs a modern transportation infrastructure to bring products to market and to allow people to get to and from work and to go about their daily lives.

Walt Maddox:
Crumbling infrastructure threatens safety and job growth
Our roads and bridges are crumbling. Alabama has nearly 102K miles of public roadways, and yet so many are deficient with nearly 50% rated as fair, poor, or very poor. Unsafe roadways contribute to one-third of traffic deaths. There are 16,000 bridges
in Alabama and more than 20% are either structurally deficient or functionally obsolete. When our roadways and bridges are not safe, Alabamians are not safe, and new jobs will not come because they can't pass along our roads to develop the industry.

Walker Stapleton:
Will restore transparency and accountability to CDOT
Our infrastructure problem is a sad example of government losing track of its purpose: serving the taxpayers of our state. Numerous studies show that deficiencies in our infrastructure cost drivers almost $7B per year. Our transportation gridlock
amounts to a hidden tax and fixing this issue is of the utmost importance. Solving big problems takes big solutions, and I will restore transparency and accountability to CDOT to ensure our tax dollars are being properly spent on projects for taxpayers.

Jay Gonzalez:
Don't just re-arrange deck chairs on Transportation Titanic
It's time to get serious about our transportation system. We need a Governor who will be honest about what needs to be done, and who will be courageous enough to do it. If all we do is rearrange the chairs on the deck of the Transportation Titanic,
all we will get is more efficient seating on a sinking ship. That's why I support the Fair Share Tax, which would ask people who make over $1 million a year to pay more in income taxes to fund investments in transportation and education.
The tax would generate an additional $2 billion per year.
We desperately need new revenue for our transportation system.
The condition of our transportation infrastructure and commute times in Massachusetts are among the worst in the country, and they are getting worse under the Baker Administration.

Infrastructure via government efficiency & private solutions
Our roads are aging and must be improved and expanded. The same is true of our water system and housing. We can address these issues without raising taxes by:- Prioritizing and improving government efficiency in order to free the money needed
for infrastructure investment.
- Expanding public/private transportation solutions.
- Implementing a reasonable construction defect law, one that will incentivize builders to build while protecting against severe abuses.

Reconstruct roadways; establish innovation centers
- Setti has focused on upgrading Newton's roads and sidewalks to remedy years of neglect, reconstructing 50 miles of roadway since 2013. Moving forward, Newton will be implementing new technology to improve traffic signalling and alleviate
traffic congestion.
- In 2013, Setti partnered with the Town of Needham and the Newton-Needham Regional Chamber to establish the N2 Innovation District as an attractive place for technology companies to do business.
Newton is increasingly becoming a place where talent, innovation, and community converge to support a vibrant, entrepreneurial economy.
- In 2016, Setti partnered with MassChallenge to open the Newton Innovation Center (NIC), a startup-friendly
collaborative workspace. The NIC offers programming, networking events, and internship programs. With over 60 startups currently working out of the NIC, its success demonstrates how Newton and other suburbs can be a hub for innovation.

Setti Warren:
Public transportation systems are underfunded
Setti Warren believes the ability to move around the Commonwealth with reasonable speed and at reasonable cost is essential to addressing the challenges of economic inequality. Constant traffic, underfunded public transportation systems and crumbling
roads and bridges are not just an inconvenience, they are an impediment to opportunity. Creating more good jobs where people live will help lighten the load on highways and public transportation.
We need a strategy to make sure that regional transportation authorities are able to meet the needs of the people of the Commonwealth.
We must commit to projects like extending the Blue Line to Lynn, building a bullet train from Springfield to Boston, and repairing our underfunded roads and bridges. We cannot wait 20 years to get this done.

Ed Perlmutter:
Land humans on Mars by 2033
Ed's number one aerospace priority is to secure a long-term plan from NASA to ensure it has the funding and resources necessary to land humans on Mars by 2033. This requires an all-hands-on-deck approach and will require new technologies and new
capabilities we've only dreamed of which will create good-paying jobs and benefit us all back on Earth. Some other aerospace projects are being developed right here in Colorado including JPSS-1 and the GOES weather satellites to improve the accuracy of
our weather forecasting models, the Mars Atmosphere and Volatile EvolutioN (MAVEN) project to analyze Mars' upper atmosphere, the Total Solar Irradiance Sensor (TSIS) to measure the sun's energy, and Orion multipurpose crew vehicle which is going
to take our astronauts deeper and farther into space than we have ever imagined are coming straight out of Colorado. Ed is working hard to advance several of these priorities vital for Colorado's aerospace economy and space exploration in general.

Dismantle the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority
For over 60 years, Oklahomans have been sold many lies about our turnpikes. One of the biggest lies was that "once the roads were paid for they would become free roads." Here we are in 2017 and not one turnpike has been turned back over to the state.
We don't know who owns the bonds. We don't know how much money the turnpike authority truly spends! However, we do know that not one dime of the toll gate money comes back to the state treasury. Not to mention that the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority
doesn't pay any property taxes.
It's time to take back the turnpikes by first demanding a truly independent-ordered forensic audit of the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority. I won't be surprised if that audit uncovers millions of dollars in waste and
outright fraud. From there, as Governor, I will work with the legislature to begin the process to dismantle the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority and bring these roads back into the control of the people of Oklahoma.

We must invest in public infrastructure
Throughout our history, Democrats have believed in equality of economic opportunity. Our state and our economy are strongest when government is a partner in growth, by providing the infrastructure and the framework to guarantee that everyone has a
shot at success. To achieve this, we must invest in public infrastructure, pay workers a livable wage, spur job growth with smart policies and demand fair tax policies.

Invest in NH infrastructure so businesses want to grow here
Too many people think we have to choose: Either we help working people and their families, or we focus on growing our economy. But my experience shows me that the right priorities do both:- We need to fix our roads, bridges, sewers, and electric
grid--because why should businesses invest in New Hampshire, if New Hampshire won't invest in New Hampshire?
- We must deliver America's best educational outcomes for our kids--from pre-K on up to high school and college.
- We have to support our
small businesses and striving entrepreneurs--our greatest job creators.
- We need a health care system that's stable, affordable, and accessible--including becoming a national leader in preventing and treating substance abuse and addiction.
We can make New Hampshire the best place in America to start and raise a family, and the best place to start and grow a business. We will aspire to be the example of what America, at our best, can be. That's why I'm running for Governor.

Safeguard our online activity from public scrutiny
As technology evolves we must continue to safeguard our online activity from public scrutiny and private exploitation. As a proponent of civil rights, I understand the strong argument made for stronger privacy laws.We must also remain vigilant to
protect our nation from terrorists and those who wish to do us harm. Cyber security is one of the most serious economic and national security challenges we face as a nation.
An effective response to cyber-attacks will require coordination among intelligence agencies, law enforcement, and private owners of critical cyber infrastructure.
However, it is also imperative that we not sacrifice citizens' privacy and civil liberties. I will continue to fight for measures that allow us to find the proper balance between national security and personal privacy.
