Kim Schrier:
Universal background checks, restrict military-style weapons
As a mom and pediatrician, I know how important it is to take action on common sense gun safety. - Implement universal, comprehensive background checks.
- Keep military-style weapons out of the hands of
individuals with criminal histories, people in crisis, and those under 21 years old.
- Repeal the Dickey Amendment, which prohibits the Centers for Disease Control from researching gun violence as a public health crisis.

Life member of NRA, 2nd amendment is fundamental to America

Tim Burchett:
Avid gun owner; lifetime NRA member
Tim is an avid gun owner with a handgun carry permit. In the state legislature, he sponsored legislation to expand gun rights, including co-sponsoring legislation eliminating political patronage in the permitting process,
and protecting lawful carry permit holders' right to carry legally in the state. As a lifetime NRA member, you can count on Tim to protect our Second Amendment rights.

Kendra Horn:
Commonsense gun safety laws don't threaten 2nd Amendment
It's time for common sense when it comes to gun safety. End bump stocks, strengthen background checks, and allow the
Center for Disease Control to research gun violence in a meaningful way. I support the 2nd Amendment, and common sense gun safety laws don't threaten it.

Lauren Underwood:
Universal background checks; repeal Dickey Amendment
We absolutely need universal background checks for all gun sales, whether through federal licenses, over the internet, or through private exchanges. Individuals who have existing legal actions should not be permitted to purchase new firearms.
We must be allowed to study this epidemic as the critical public health issue that it is -- and it's time to repeal the Dickey Amendment. This is a public safety issue of critical importance.

Sean Casten:
Bring back the Assault Weapons Ban
I'll support bringing back the Assault Weapons Ban. I will advocate for laws that allow the ATF to store gun records in searchable, electronic records to bring law enforcement into the 20th (much less 21st) century. I'll support the Protecting
Domestic Violence and Stalking Victims Act, banning access to lethal weapons for offenders who have been convicted of domestic violence or who are under a restraining order (H.R. 2670). I'll support a national ban on high-capacity magazines.
I'll support laws to close the gun show loophole. I'll support "no fly no buy" rules to prohibit gun sales to suspected terrorists on the federal no-fly list. I'll support repeal of the "Dickey Amendment," which forbids the
Center for Disease Control from studying gun violence in the United States. Anyone who opposes these sensible regulations on Second Amendment grounds is simply wrong.

Jason Crow:
Ban long gun sales to people in other states
Background checks have prevented over 2.4 million gun sales to felons, domestic abusers, and dangerously mentally ill individuals. I introduced legislation to close the "Colorado Loophole," which would prohibit the sale of
long guns to residents from other states who could not buy them in their own home state, am vice chair of the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, and was a proud supporter of H.R. 8 to expand background checks for all gun sales.

Elaine Luria:
For universal background checks & red flag laws
I believe that law-abiding citizens should be able to own guns and exercise their second amendment rights, but commonsense measures are necessary to keep our communities safe from preventable gun violence.
I joined bipartisan commonsense reform efforts like requiring universal background checks and encouraging red flag laws, which can prevent an individual from purchasing or retaining their firearm for a certain period if they are determined to be a danger

John Joyce:
Extremists want to infringe on law abiding citizens' rights
The extremists on the left believe that infringing on law abiding citizens' rights is an answer to end violence. I believe the opposite to be true. Instead, we should increase mandatory minimums for those who use guns to commit crimes, focus on our
current mental health system and make securing our schools the top priority. We can do this without taking away the rights of hunters, and those who choose to protect themselves with a firearm. I am a fierce advocate for the second amendment.

-

-
Eliminating bump stocks, devices that convert semi-automatic weapons into fully automatic weapons;

Mikie Sherrill:
Supports universal criminal background checks
We need to do much more to keep deadly weapons out of the hands of violent criminals, domestic abusers, and terrorists. We can do this while protecting the Second Amendment and the rights of responsible gun owners.
I support universal criminal background checks to cover all firearm sales. We need to stop criminals and dangerously mentally ill people from buying firearms at gun shows, over the internet, or through classified ads.
While New Jersey has led the way with an assault weapons ban and large capacity magazine limits, it is still possible for a criminal to purchase these deadly weapons across state lines. I support a federal assault weapons ban and limits on large
capacity magazines. Weapons of war designed to kill as many people as possible as quickly as possible do not belong on our streets. Congress also needs to ban bump-stocks, which allow individuals to convert firearms into fully automatic weapons.

Dean Phillips:
Pass background checks & assault weapons ban
Gun-Violence Prevention: Over 77% of Republicans and 90% of Democrats agree on the need to close the gun-show loophole and require background checks on all firearm purchases.
Dean is not beholden to the gun lobby and will be a vocal advocate for such commonsense, bipartisan policy.
Given that we don't allow hand grenades, bazookas or machine guns on our streets, there is precedent for the same sort of reasonable approach to assault weapons that will save lives.Dean believes we must declare gun violence a national health
and public safety crisis. He will work to provide the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention with the funding necessary to thoroughly investigate the causes of gun violence ?and offer potential solutions.

Can address gun violence and protect Second Amendment
My support for the Second Amendment goes hand-in-hand with doing everything I can to keep our children and communities safe from gun violence. I believe we can work together to address gun violence while protecting our Second Amendment Rights.

Haley Stevens:
It is past time that we act on commonsense gun reform
It is past time that we act on commonsense gun reform. We must end loopholes in the background checks system, finally pass a bill to crack down on bump stocks, and preserve current protections against gun silencers.
These are commonsense reforms that cannot wait, and they will get my attention on day one in office.

Tom Malinowski:
Regulate guns and ammunition to protect citizens
I support laws that allow family members, law enforcement officers, and other concerned individuals to petition a court to remove a person's firearms if they are acting in ways that suggest a risk to themselves or to others.
I support legislation that will prohibit the ownership of armor-piercing ammunition, in addition to existing legislation which prohibits its sale. I support a mandatory national five-day waiting period, before an individual can purchase a handgun.

David Trone:
Work with both parties to pass common sense gun control
Every year there are over 30K gun-related deaths and we must take action to stop the violence. I'll take on the NRA and work with both sides to pass common-sense gun safety laws. Reject all special interest money, including the NRA.
Among my top priorities is expanding background checks that keep guns out of the hands of people with a history of violence or serious mental illness by closing the gun-show and loopholes. Ban assault-rifles and bump stocks.

We need 100% background checks, & close gun show loophole
We must take on the NRA! We must keep guns out of the hands of people who should never have a gun.˙We need 100% background checks and to close loophole--especially with gun shows.˙We need to rid our communities of military-grade
weapons.˙We need to strip the power of the NRA with commitments from elected officials to NOT ACCEPT campaign contributions.˙No one should live in fear of attending a concert,˙dancing at a nightclub,˙or going to school.

Gun regulation is a necessity
As a nation, we desperately need to have a conversation. Beyond the common sense measures that should have been enacted long. (background checks for private sales and gun shows, barring purchases from anyone on no-fly or watch lists,

Ayanna Pressley:
Gun control needs to be implemented now
Congress must act to strengthen gun control laws in our country--the deaths, injuries, and trauma associated with gun violence are simply too significant to ignore any longer.
At the very least, comprehensive background checks on ALL gun sales and banning anyone on no-fly lists from obtaining guns should be passed immediately.

Debbie Lesko:
The second amendment provides an essential right
There is a reason why our Founding Fathers found it necessary to make the Second Amendment to our Constitution the right to keep and bear arms. This is a principle rooted in our Republic whereby we are a government of the people, by the people and
for the people. But the right to own firearms is more than just a check on tyranny; it is a fundamental right that free citizens be allowed to protect and defend themselves.
