2018 NY Senate race: on Crime

Scott Noren: Incarcerate criminals but sentences should reflect the crime

Those criminals that terrorize neighborhoods and communities must be separated from society. Sentences need to be appropriate for the crime and reviewed frequently by independent panels. That can work to increase or decrease them as appropriate. Develop strong police to community relationships. Also develop a better communication system to alert law enforcement when there are red flags for violence in families, friendship circles and communities.

Chele Farley: Convicted murderers/rapists should lose voting rights

Calling it an insult to crime victims and our law enforcement community, U.S. Senate candidate Chele Farley voiced her strong opposition to restoring voting rights to murderers and rapists. "In Washington, I would support federal legislation that permanently bars convicted murderers and rapists from voting," said Farley.
