2018 NY Senate race: on Homeland Security

Scott Noren: Proactive, not reactive, actions taken to aid military

Senator Gillibrand has been ineffective on the Senate Armed Services Committee and we need to protect and provide for our active duty and vets more than what is being done. It is usually a 'mop-up' instead of having foresight to their realtime needs and being less antagonistic to the leadership as she has been. We also need a declaratory policy regarding an attack on one of our strategic space satellites.

Dave Webber: 20 Vets commit suicide every day--we must do better by them

Our veterans deserve better. We're still trying to fix the VA system which has harmed so many of our veterans over the past 8 years and more. We cannot give less than average service to those who risked their lives to serve their country. This is simply ridiculous! We need to underscore the sense of urgency to fix the entire Veterans Administration--from top to bottom. We have 20 vets committing suicide every day. It's time we take action to protect our veterans.
