2018 WA Senate race: on Drugs

Susan Hutchison: Strengthen federal prosecution in opioid drug crisis

Nowhere is the opioid drug crisis more pitiful than in Seattle where countless addicts live on the streets or in tents. The Seattle government has no plan to cure the problem but only to enable and tolerate more of the same.ÿ I WILL strengthen the federal role in this national crisis-tightening prescription rules, prosecuting illegal drug trafficking across borders, treating rather than enabling addiction, promoting recovery programs and re-evaluating Medicaid distribution.ÿ

Dave Strider: Allow military honorable discharge after marijuana use

Q: Do you support or oppose the statement, "Marijuana is a gateway drug"?

A: I have had legal access for over 40 years. I changed the military law protecting service people from getting less than an honorable discharge.

Mike Luke: Wants to stop all federal regulation of marijuana

There is no authorization for the federal government to prohibit marijuana, this is a matter for the states. Marijuana should be immediately reclassified with the next step of repealing all federal regulation of Marijuana. As more states legalize Marijuana in some way remember there is still federal law regulating it, the feds are still out there lurking around and I fear some may pounce on innocent people and honest businesses? Let's just take away that option from the federal government!
