ABC This Week interviews during 2019: on Corporations

Cory Booker: Enforce antitrust; president shouldn't decide targets

I don't care if it's Facebook, the pharma industry, even the agricultural industry. We've had a problem in America with corporate consolidation, that is having really ill effects. I will have a Justice Department that uses antitrust legislation to do the proper investigations and to hold industries accountable for corporate consolidation. I don't think that a president should be running around, pointing at companies and saying breaking them up without any kind of process here.

Tim Ryan: We need an industrial policy: government involved in process

We need an industrial policy. We need to sit down with the business community, we need to sit down with the educational community and use the tax code and figure out how we rebuild the industrial base. There's plenty of opportunities out there. Take electric vehicles. It's the president who needs to convene, sit down with the big three, sit down with the Department of Energy, put a big plan together and then cut the workers in on the deal so they could actually make a middle-class wage.
