On Civil Rights: Don't give a damn about the politics: racism is racism

I will defend anybody Republican or Democrat who is attacked because of their color of their skin, because of their religion, because of their ethnicity. That's just who I am. I don't give a damn about the politics of it. Racism is racism. I don't care about politics. I care about my nation. This is not who we are. This is the greatness of our country. On Health Care: Public option is first step, negotiate lower drug prices

Nobody should go bankrupt because they get sick or put aside lifesaving drugs because they can't afford them. The best way to get there is Medicare for all. In my first hundred days we're going to put forward a public option, like lowering Medicare eligibility down to 55. Number two, one of the biggest drivers to health care costs in this country is the price of those pharmaceutical drugs. It's unacceptable. On Immigration: Intervene in refugees' home countries; reform asylum process

We should be making sure that those countries that are going through crises that are causing all this immigration that we're doing more to intervene, to support human rights and basic dignity in those countries. That's a lower cost way to deal with it than to have the horrors of these families with small children trying to make thousands of miles journey to come through our borders.
