Bernie Sanders: Violent white nationalists should be treated as terrorists

We have got to do a lot better job than we are doing right now in fighting the rise of white nationalism in this country. We need to understand that in El Paso what was committed was an act of domestic violence. So, I am a strong civil libertarian. But I want to make sure that we do not see the rise of neo-fascism in this country and that we understand that those white nationalists, when they get involved in violence, are terrorists and should be treated as terrorists.

Pete Buttigieg: Must not allow foreign powers to interfere in elections

We were attacked by a hostile foreign power that decided that they could damage America, destabilize America, by intervening in the election to help [Trump] win. And they did and he did, and now America's destabilized. If you believe in putting this country first, how could you ever talk about allowing a foreign power to interfere in the most sacred thing that we have in our civic tradition in America, which is our elections?

Eric Swalwell: Russian attack on 2016 elections must be taken seriously

The tone we want to set is to highlight that America was attacked by the Russians in 2016. The basic function of a government is to protect its people from a foreign attack. The bigger picture here, if we are not able to protect our people from a foreign attack do we really actually have a government that can defend us.
