Raphael Warnock: Guns not allowed in Capitol, but allowed in our schools?

The reverend declares with conviction,ÿ"Guns are not allowed in the state Capitol. But they want them in our churches and our schools. Have you lost your mind." Minutes later, a photo of Emmett Till fills the frame, captioned "Hoodie Sunday," transitioning to footage of the congregation. "We've been here before--Emmett Till, Trayvon Martin"--he cries, enunciating each syllable of the names of the deceased--"profiled, hunted down, and killed for crossing some cultural arbitrary line."

Valencia Stovall: Right to own guns, but not high powered weapons

Q: Do you generally support gun-control legislation?

A: Yes. I support the right of people to have guns, but don't support the high powered weapons that are used in military combat nor allowing someone with mental health history of violence to be permitted to have a gun.

Allen Buckley: Uphold the Second Amendment with background checks

I believe the law should be: Persons determined by a state-certified physician to possess a significant likelihood of causing physical harm or death to any person, mentally institutionalized persons, persons under investigation with respect to terrorist activities, illegal aliens and persons convicted of a federal or state law felony in which deadly force was possessed should not be permitted to access guns. Every other adult should have access. (Background checks should apply to purchases.)

Kelly Loeffler: Defend the Second Amendment

In her introductory news conference, Loeffler pledged allegiance to Trump and decried Democrats' efforts to impeach the president as a "circus." She said she would defend the Second Amendment, support Trump's border wall and conservative judges and will be a fierce opponent of abortion. "Contrary to what you might see in the media, not every strong American woman is a liberal," she said. "Many of us are conservative and proud of it."

Matt Lieberman: In campaign announcement, came out as pro-gun control

Matt Lieberman's views are largely unknown so far. In a video declaring his candidacy, he called for a ban on assault-style weapons, proclaimed himself pro-choice, and endorsed a "Voting Rights Act for the 21st Century" to protect voters who rights might be endangered by state and local laws.

Tom Price: Gun ownership protects those at scene of crime

Price asserted that when violence has taken place, gun ownership has protected--not harmed--those at the scene of the crime. "In fact, guns are used more often to protect lives, not take lives. Steps to remove firearms from the hands of law-abiding citizens endanger those very citizens," he said.

Jason Carter: Let local communities decide if teachers can be armed

Q: Do you think teachers should be armed in schools?

CARTER: What we've done is allowed communities to make those decisions for themselves. There are some communities in my state that will feel safer if their school districts are allowed to make those decisions. And there's other communities where they won't. And those communities will get to decide for themselves.
