2019-20 GA special Senate race: on War & Peace

Doug Collins: Claimed Democrats "in love with terrorists," then apologized

After a U.S. drone strike killed Iranian military commander Qassim Suleimani, Collins smeared Democratic critics as being "in love with terrorists." In a Twitter thread, Collins abruptly had a more apologetic tone. The congressman tweeted, "Let me be clear: I do not believe Democrats are in love with terrorists, and I apologize for what I said earlier this week."

Matt Lieberman: Against rejoining Iran Deal until better deal made

Lieberman would not support re-entering the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, as the Iran deal is formally known. "I think it would be great to have a better deal than the one that we had before," he said. Lieberman would not say whether he supported or opposed Trump's decision in 2017 to withdraw the United States from the landmark nuclear pact with Tehran.

Matt Lieberman: Iran nuclear deal could have been better

"I think the Iran nuclear deal could have been better," said the Senate hopeful. "The benefit of delaying Iran's nuclear capability may well have been outweighed by the cost of freeing up enormous sums of money for Iran to wreak havoc-- I think any future deal would need to look at what that experience has been and would look at what Iran has done with the funds that were opened up to it and take that into much more serious consideration given actual events that have transpired."

Allen Buckley: Involvement in Iraq hurt the US domestically

Q: During your stump speech you mentioned the Iraq War.

AB: It made me sick, to see that war taking place, because I knew it would make our financial problems a lot worse and new we had deep, ingrained financial problems. I knew it would make our terrorism problems a lot worse. And not to brag, I was right about both and it made me sick, because I knew it was based on a pack of lies. It really bothered me."
