Ricky Dale Harrington in 2020 AR Senatorial race
On Principles & Values:
Libertarian for those unhappy with Democrats AND Republicans
The Libertarian Party of Arkansas nominated Harrington, Jr., 34, of Pine Bluff, to run for the U.S. Senate seat now held by Republican Sen. Tom Cotton. If you have supported Democrats or Republicans in the past and are unhappy with the way things
are going in our country's government you now have another choice.ÿ Bad or worse are no longer the only choices in the election.ÿ There is an alternative.ÿ The Libertarian Party.

On Crime:
Prisons shouldn't profit off of people
I work in Corrections and our criminal justice system needs to change. There should be NO money making incentives to incarcerate people. No one cares until it hits them in their backyard,
I say you have a duty to make sure those in power do not create a system that locks people up and uses them in a profiteering industry. #itsyourrepublic

On Crime:
Reduce prison population; impose sentencing caps
Prison reform is a motivating issue for Harrington. He is a treatment coordinator at the Arkansas Department of Corrections Cummins Unit. His responsibilities include legal matters, access to courts, recreational activities and veterans affairs.
He supports reducing the size of Arkansas' prison population, particularly with respect to nonviolent offenders; imposing sentencing caps; and programs that could help people stay out of prison.

On Principles & Values:
Converted from Blue-Dog Democrat; married with three kids
Harrington, a father of three, is the LPA's first African-American candidate. The party first began contesting elections in Arkansas in 2012.He was a member of the White County Democratic
Party, though he called himself a "blue dog" or conservative Democrat. He spent two years doing Church of Christ missionary work in China with his Chinese-born wife, Emily, whom he met while they were students at Harding University.
He taught in universities and did health care consulting in China. He was there during the 2016 campaign and was dismayed watching the condition of American politics from afar.
Harrington also was inspired to run because of his displeasure over Act 164's higher threshold requirements to qualify for the ballot.

On Foreign Policy:
As missionary in China, saw lack of rights under Communism
Ricky Dale Harrington is a missionary by profession having most recently served in Communist China and said, "I spent two years entrenched in Communism while living abroad in China. Every day I witnessed first-hand the devastating effects of lack of
rights and freedoms that we hold so dear here in America. I was inspired to join the fight in saving our Republic. I have watched as many of you have, the unconstitutional laws being passed, the BIG government bureaucrats seeking to insulate their power
at the expense of our personal freedoms. I say NO MORE! We have been divided like sheep and encouraged by our media to view our fellow Americans as our enemy. Like you, I see the importance of working together to preserve our Union, and the rights of
all citizens.""I am seeking the Libertarian nomination for US senate, SO WE CAN TAKE OUR REPUBLIC BACK! It is going to take all of you to send a message to the career politicians that we will no longer tolerate their corruption."
