Ron DeSantis in Speeches at CPAC (2020s)

On Crime: We're a law-and-order state; reject weak on crime policies

We are a law-and-order state in the state of Florida. We reject weak on crime policies. We reject Soros-funded prosecutors. After the 2020 summer riots, we called up the national guard here immediately. We said we are not letting Florida's cities burn down. We have signed the strongest anti-rioting legislation in the country. In Florida, you're not getting a slap on the wrist. You're getting the inside of a jail cell.

On Health Care: We reject the biomedical security state, defeated Fauci-ism

In Florida, we reject the biomedical security state which erodes liberty, harms livelihoods and divides our society. We have done things like ban vaccine passports and mandates because it is unacceptable to simply subcontract out Fauciism to big companies. Florida has defeated Fauciism. Freedom has prevailed in the sunshine state.

On Principles & Values: Wokism is a form of cultural Marxism

Wokism is a form of cultural Marxism. It is not just about raising taxes or bad economic policy, it is about tearing at the fabric of our society and trying to replace it with something that will be much, much more sinister. A lot of major institutions in our country have become infected with this woke virus. Look at academia. Do we even need to discuss that? Their main objective is to impose an ideological world view.

On Government Reform: Ban ballot harvesting, outside groups interfering

Florida has also led and continues to lead on ensuring the integrity of our elections. This year Florida's leading on banning all forms of ballot harvesting and banning third-party political groups like those funded by billionaire Mark Zuckerberg from interfering in the administration of our elections. The bottom line is this, in Florida your vote counts and we will continue to have a process that is transparent and inspires confidence.

On Health Care: COVID: We got it right and the lock down states got it wrong

In Florida the schools are open. Every Floridian has a right to earn a living and all businesses have the right to operate. Florida has lower per-capita COVID mortality than a national average and lower than 27 other states. Our unemployment rate is lower than the national average. Tourism is fully back. Our budget is in great shape. We have not touched one red cent from our rainy day fund throughout this whole time. Florida got it right and the lock down states got it wrong.

On Immigration: Against open borders, amnesty, cheap foreign labor

We reject open borders and instead support American sovereignty and the American worker. Building a movement on the foundation of amnesty and cheap foreign labor is like building a house on a field of quicksand.

On Technology: Hold big tech accountable for political censorship

Florida is also leading in protecting our people from political censorship and holding big tech accountable. When our legislature convenes next month it will pass and I will sign the most ambitious reform yet proposed for combating political censorship and preventing big tech from interfering in our elections and for safeguarding the privacy of your personal data. in Florida we are not going to let the terms of the debate in our country be set by Silicon Valley.
