On Gun Control: Banning assault weapons does not mean broad gun ban

Swalwell said his call for a ban on assault weapons was not a step toward broader gun bans. "Keep your pistols,ÿkeep your long rifles, keep your shotguns." Swalwell said the ban would come with criminal consequences for people who did not participate in the buy-back, but suggested an "alternative, which would be to keep them at a hunting club or a shooting range. On Tax Reform: The wealthy should pay more taxes

Swalwell called for raising taxes on the wealthy. Asked by Fox News if he agrees with a proposal by Elizabeth Warren to place a wealth tax on the ultra-rich, Swalwell said, "she's right that the wealthiest Americans are getting off the hook and paying less. ...ÿI do support increasing the taxes that the wealthiest pay."
