Barry Moore in 2020 House elections
On Budget & Economy:
Government should spend carefully & reduce national debt
One item on his list - reduce the national debt. "The way it's set up right now, if the agency or department doesn't use that money by the end of the fiscal year, they lose it. That'd be like you having children saying, 'Hey, we'll give you an allowance
this week. But if you don't spend it, you don't get any allowance next week.'" Moore says "We're going to give you what you need to run your government but save where you can because this deficit we're spending, somebody's got to pay for that."

On Government Reform:
If getting to a polling place is difficult, vote absentee
As someone who is asking for people's votes, it's hard to admit I missed one," Moore said. "I had to make a choice that day. I hope I was able to make it up to President Trump by going to the Republican National Convention and casting my vote for him as
a delegate from Alabama. I have learned a valuable lesson. Looking back, I should have voted absentee that year since we were in session. Learn from my mistake and get an absentee ballot if you think you won't make it to the polls."

On Gun Control:
No restrictions on AR15's nor high capacity magazines
Barry believes the Second Amendment should remain unchanged and uninhibited. "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" is pretty clear. Barry does NOT support red flag laws in any form; does NOT support restrictions on AR-type weapons; and
does NOT support restrictions on high capacity magazines. Barry SUPPORTS both concealed carry and constitutional carry, and he would support legislation to require all states to recognize concealed carry permits from other states.

Committed to securing benefits for military families
As Chairman of Military and Veteran Affairs, Barry authored and sponsored key legislation to include bringing the "RedTails" F-35 Fighter Squadron to Montgomery. His sponsored legislation made strides to protect military families from unfair child
custody courts, secure residency for in-state tuition programs for military families and veterans, protect the licensing of working spouses through licensure reciprocity, and advocate for our Purple Heart Recipients.

On Principles & Values:
Lives by Faith, Family, Finance and Freedom
Faith, Family, Finance and Freedom are the fundamentals that guide all aspects of Barry's life. In all decisions as a legislator, Barry measured the consequences of any bill on these four fundamentals.
It's a system that served him well and won him the distinction as a dependable, conservative vote in Montgomery. He will take the same fundamentals to Washington D.C.

On Social Security:
Allow workers tax free options with private accounts
Q: How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?A: Stop borrowing from the account and allow workers to participate in tax free options with private accounts. Government cannot be trusted with our money for future needs.
Social Security will struggle for years to become fully funded and solvent; at this point it will require some tough choices.
Q: What government spending would you reduce?
A: Across the board unfunded liabilities and social programs.
