Greg Pence in 2020 House elections

On Civil Rights: Says he doesn't manage his mall that sells racist objects

Greg Pence is coming under criticism for allowing the sale of objects with racist depictions of African Americans at an antiques mall he co-owns. Sprinkled throughout the mall are dozens of objects that trade in Jim Crow-era caricatures, like a coin bank featuring an exaggerated, straw-hatted Black figure biting down on a watermelon or "Mammy" biscuit jars depicting smiling Black enslaved women. Through a spokesperson, Pence said he "is not engaged in the active management" of the mall.

On Crime: Strongly against defunding the police

The recent calls to defund or disband the police departments we depend on are irresponsible. I will never support that. Some are advocating to change qualified immunity. Qualified immunity does not prohibit bad officers from being held accountable by our system of justice. Those who commit illegal acts on the beat, like those accused of George Floyd's murder, are rightfully subject to state or federal criminal charges.

On Energy & Oil: All-of-the-above approach to energy; yes to bio-fuels

Greg Pence signed on as a co-sponsor to the Biodiesel Tax Credit Extension Act of 2021, legislation that seeks to incentivize biodiesel innovation. "I am pleased to sign legislation that supports an 'all the above' not an 'everything but' approach to energy production. My constituents are one of my greatest priorities, and that means fighting for legislation that creates good-paying Hoosier jobs, strengthens our economy and work towards our nation becoming energy independent."

On Principles & Values: No to Jan 6 riot commission as unfair to Trump

Rep. Greg Pence on Wednesday said he would vote against a bill to create a bipartisan commission to investigate the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, in which some of the rioters called for his brother, then-Vice President Mike Pence, to be executed. Pence called House Speaker Nancy Pelosi a "hanging judge" and said the commission would be a "pre-determined political execution" of former President Donald Trump in a statement to Forbes.
