Reactionary responses to crimes involving guns overlooks the basic facts that more restrictive gun laws will have little effect on crime because, criminals do not follow the law. The latest school shooting, at Santa Fe High School, has reignited the conversation around gun regulations. New Orleans Senator Troy Carter says "Hopefully people will start to understand that this is not anti-second amendment, this is about saving lives." Carter introduced three gun control bills.
