On Education: Reduce loans in exchange for service in rural communities

Rural communities like many of those in the Second District of Kansas struggle to find doctors to serve their communities in part due to lower salaries offered there. A reduction in student loans in conjunction with willingness to serve rural communities for an extended period of time is a good trade off.

On Government Reform: Impose term limits on members of Congress

My first official action as Congressman will be to co-sponsor legislation implanting a constitutional amendment imposing term limits on members of Congress. The challenges we face as a nation will not be tackled if politicians are only focused on the next election.

On Gun Control: Second amendment is a foundational right

On Principles & Values: Don't drive God out of the town square

God has not been indifferent towards the people in America, and we should not be indifferent to him. I will stand up against the secular progressives that are trying to drive God out of the town square.

On Social Security: Slowly increase retirement age; means testing for wealthy

First of all, we should make no changes to those at or near retirement age. Those are benefits that have been earned and should not be messed with. However, the program is going broke and for future generations we need to look at small changes to ensure that Social Security can continue to exist for them. Those should include slowly increasing the retirement age by two years (2 months per year over a period of 12 years) and instituting means testing for extremely high income individuals.
