On Civil Rights: Media portrays racial relations as worse than they are

Q: Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

A: No. The media likes to portray racial relations in this country to be worse than they really are. I believe our country and its people are far better than the media portrays.

On Social Security: Modifications may be necessary moving forward

Q: How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

A: First and foremost, those approaching retirement age or are already receiving benefits should have no change in their benefit plan. We must recognize that people are living longer and less people are entering the job market which means modifications may be necessary in order to sustain the Social Security system moving forward.
