Survey of 2020 House campaign websites: on Budget & Economy

David Valadao: Balancing the budget , cutting debt will help the economy

Today's government spends, borrows, and taxes its people too much. Our national debt has surpassed $23 trillion, over $65,000 for every man, woman, and child in America. David strongly opposes wasteful projects, such as the construction of a high-speed rail system throughout California which will cost tax payers billions of dollars with little added benefit. Responsible spending reductions to tackle our national debt will strengthen the economy.

Greg Murphy: Curtail spending; $22T debt mortgages our children's futures

Our national debt recently passed $22 trillion and despite this staggering number, our government continues to borrow over 40% of every dollar it spends. I support a Balance Budget Amendment and will always look for and support spending cuts, with an eye toward clearing defining wants from needs. We must curtail this out of control spending that is mortgaging our children's futures.

Lance Harris: Less government is better; cut taxes and waste

Washington D.C. is a mess," he said. "Just like I've done in the Louisiana Legislature, I'll work with President Trump to continue to cut taxes, rein in waste and get government off the backs of our farmers and job creators. Despite what (Democratic presidential candidates) Bernie (Sanders) and (Joe) Biden say, America needs to be less like Cuba and more like Caldwell Parish.

Renee Unterman: Wants balanced budget Constitutional amendment

Renee is proud to have helped guide Georgia's economy to being named No.1 seven years in a row. Our state is thriving because we have cut burdensome income taxes at both the state and federal level, all while balancing the state budget. In Congress, Renee will sponsor a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution to reign in the deficit, support the FAIR tax, and eliminate red tape and regulations to empower small business owners in our community.

Young Kim: Links good jobs to lower taxes & less regulations

Young believes that the hard working men and women of Southern California are taxed and regulated enough. She will fight to keep taxes low so that individuals and families can keep more of their hard earned dollars because they know how best to spend their money, not Washington politicians.
