Dan Bishop:
Strong national defense is Constitutional & moral mandate
We owe and immeasurable debt to our active duty military who stand in harms way to protect our freedoms, and all the veterans who have honorably served our nation. That means keeping the promises we make to them when they sign up to serve.
In the State Senate, Dan voted to create job opportunities for our veterans, exempt military retirement from the state income tax, and fund programs to help veterans in crisis.
There's always more that can be done for those who put themselves in harms
way to protect our freedom. And Dan will do even more in Congress. Maintaining a strong national defense is a Constitutional mandate that must be upheld and, I believe, a moral obligation that must be met by Congress. Our elected leaders must follow
the counsel of military leaders and make sure they have the resources and tools they need to protect our shining city on a hill and uphold the freedom and liberty that has made the United States the great hope of mankind.

Greg Murphy:
Keep promises to our veterans
Promises made should be promises kept. That standard goes for our active duty military who stand in harms way to protect our freedoms, as well as our veterans who have honorably served our nation.
Our area contributes as much as any in the nation to our armed forces and we must make sure our services, for both active duty, veterans and their families are second to none.

Maintain Constitutionally-mandated strong national defense
The United States is the world's great superpower and maintaining a strong national defense is a Constitutional mandate that must be upheld.
We must follow the council of our military leaders and make sure they have the tools they need to protect our freedoms around the world.
