On Drugs: Consistently for legalization of marijuana

A number of people have asked for my position on the legalization of marijuana in Montana. My position, since Day 1, has been the same: I'm for it.ÿ

On Government Reform: Wants to stop influence of dark money on elections

I needed an avenue to express my support about the need for the rule of law, which I believe has been severely eroded over the last several years. I'm a hard worker and will give this campaign a great deal of effort. I will be talking about issues like fiscal conservatism, the influence of dark money on politics and a return to civility in politics.

On Tax Reform: 2017 tax cut burdened us with huge deficit

The tax bill in 2017 blew a multi-billion dollar whole through our nation's pocketbook, and has resulted in a record trillion-plus dollar deficit, and by the way, that is a deficit that will burden countless generations of Americans and Montanans and added no real value to our nation and our state.

On Government Reform: Mail-in ballots allow everyone to vote

Lewis and Clark County announced Tuesday they are holding the primary election on June 2 through mail ballot. "We are taking this pandemic very seriously and looking at all available options for doing County business during this difficult time. Elections are essential and critical and by making the decision to do a mail ballot election, we are encouraging everyone to vote. This decision protects voters, election judges and staff while still allowing the public's voice to be heard."

On Principles & Values: Running to combat partisanship and tribalism in politics

The current tenor of partisan politics motivated her to run. "I have grandchildren and I want them to live in a nation of laws and partisan politics has devolved into tribalism. It is dangerous and we need to step back from this precipice and I am willing to go up against a sitting United States senator and a two-term governor to stop this madness." Geise indicated she has felt alienated by her former party and disagrees with its current direction under the Trump administration.

On Government Reform: Stop the partisan circus in county elections

Susan Good Geise has called for nonpartisan county elections and was the only local voice who weighed in on the issue. "We didn't do any big ad campaign. I personally paid for an ad in the Blackfoot Valley Dispatch, but it clearly said 'Paid for by Susan Good Geise. It's a picture of a print I have of an elephant and a donkey and they're being jockeyed by monkeys and the audience is all monkeys, too. And it said, 'If you've had enough of this partisan circus, vote nonpartisan.' "

On Homeland Security: Honor veterans by strengthening VA, hiring veterans and more

Montana, outside of Alaska, has the highest rate of military service in the nation, and our heroes range from the posthumous Medal of Honor-winner Travis Atkins of Bozeman to, though our politics differ, Robert O'Neil of Butte, who helped hunt down Osama bin Laden, to those like Bud Campbell who survived the Bataan Death March of World War II, the Korean War's Newton Old Crow Sr., and the Vietnam War's Bob Jewell. Veterans Day gives us all a chance to reflect on those who have served our nation in uniform. It has also given me, as a U.S. Senate candidate, the opportunity to develop the policies that will help our veterans: protecting and fortifying the Veterans Administration, destigmatizing and treating war's hidden injuries, including PTSD and TBI, expanding rural Montana's access to high quality health care, incentivizing the hiring and training of veterans, solving veteran homelessness, and tackling our state's suicide epidemic head-on.
